Getting around Valencia by taxi

Day or night, taxis criss-cross the city of Valencia. It is very easy to find a taxi whatever the hour. Taxis are very numerous in Valencia and the taxis drivers never balk at short journeys. Taxis companies provide a wide range of services too. Taking a taxi in Valencia is surely the quickest, the most practical and economical mode of transportation, especially if you are a group of 3 or 4 people.
Valencia taxis
Valencia Taxis are easily recognizable by their white color, the symbol "Valencia Area" on the rear doors and a small green illuminated light on the roof when the taxi is free. In addition, a sign most of the time in Valencia "Lliure" (free) or "Ocupat" hung on the upper right of the windshield confirms availability.
Valencian taxis are grouped around AGT (Asociación de los taxista Valencian).
Their operating conditions and rates are governed by the AVM (Agencia Valenciana de Movilidad).

Initial charge (Bajada de bandera). from 6 am to 10 pm: 1,45 €, minimum fare: 4 €
. from 10pm to 6 am: 2 €, minimum fare: 6 €
. supplements : 4,95 € at the airport and 2,80 € at the port
The fare of a taxi journey is calculated on the basis of 3 tariff codes (1, 2 and 3 indicated on the top, next to the green light) according to the zone (A for Valencia itself and B for the suburbs), the time and the day.
Rate per km : from 1 to 1,16 € - Waiting time per hour: from 18,25 to 21,38 €
It costs about 15 to 20 euros to get from Valencia to the Airport (Manises). Taxi drivers don't give change more than 20 €. So it is better to pay with small notes. Lastly, it is customary to tip taxi drivers.
For specific journeys, reservations, medium or long distances, it is necessary to contact the taxi company directly.
